TAKE-HOME MESSAGE
Women who are carriers of BRCA1/2 mutations were found to have higher levels of circulating progesterone and estrogen compared with BRCA1/2-negative women. This may be a contributing factor to an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer among BRCA-positive women.
