Bill Myers Tip of the Week – May 10, 2014
If you work with digital photos or clip-art, there will be times when you want to remove the backgrounds from those images and just leave the foreground or main subject matter intact.
You might want to do this to create a product logo, or an uncluttered headshot, or even a floating overlay for video.
Whatever the reason, there are software tools that make it fairly easy to do. These tools include Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Smart Photo Editor and others.
But if you don’t have these tools or are in a hurry to get the job done, you might be interested in a online tool I found that can quickly remove image backgrounds without requiring any special software or training.
With this tool you can remove the background from almost any image in a few seconds.
To show you how easy this can be, check out the short video I made at http://youtu.be/ZIX2ZwKby9E
If you do have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, you can see how to use it to remove image backgrounds in the video I created at http://youtu.be/96LDK_kzse0
Either way, knowing how to remove image backgrounds is a skill that can come in handy in your product creation adventures.
